Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint: 

Our milk paint is sold in powder form in 230g resealable zippered pouches.

Each pouch makes approximately 1 quart when mixed with water.

One quart of milk paint covers approximately 70 sq.ft.
To get started: Simply mix powder with water- it's that easy!

A milk paint finish is unique and can range from a solid color to a stain or a wash, it all depends on how much water you add! It can be used on any porous surface without a primer. It will never chip or peel on porous surfaces as it soaks in and binds with the substrate.

 If you haven't used Milk Paint before, don't be afraid! Online video tutorials will guide you through every step, so you can achieve the exact look you want.

This fine museum quality wax is based on an old family recipe. It is made from beeswax with a little carnauba wax and then lightly tinted to a rich brown, perfect for creating an authentically aged finish on a piece of painted furniture. It is easy to apply, provides a durable finish with a beautiful luster and has almost no odor.

Bonding Agent

This Milk Paint Bonding Agent allows milk paint to adhere to metal, glass and painted, varnished or lacquered surfaces. This bonding agent is a water-based concentrated acrylic emulsion.

Hemp Oil

This solvent free oil finish provides a protective, water-resistant surface. Use on new wood that is bare, stained, Milk Painted or to revive old wood finishes. It penetrates to protect from the inside out. Does not leave a surface film that will chip or scratch. This food-safe oil finish is perfect for use in the kitchen on wood or stone. Used outside, it can restore the luster of old oil based paint or revitalize surfaces such as cast iron. Test on an inconspicuous spot prior to using on the entire piece to ensure the look is what you want to achieve, as it does darken the appearance.

Tough Coat

Our premium, non-yellowing tough coat provides extra durability against general wear and tear, water damage and food stains. Perfect for those high traffic surfaces such as table tops, seating, doors and floors. Apply with a roller or brush onto recently painted  or clean, non oily/greasy surfaces.

If applying to a recently painted surface, allow the surface to dry 24-36 hours before applying. For maximum durability, apply two coats waiting 2-4 hours between coats. In humid areas, longer drying times may be required. 500mL covers approximately 75 sq. ft.
Easy clean up with soap and warm water. Dries to a matte finish.

Wax Puck 

Did you know that wax acts as a resist to paint? Well, it does and can be used to create beautiful layered looks with milk paint! This 100% beeswax "puck" easily fits in the palm of your hand and was custom made for this purpose. To achieve a layered look, apply one coat of milk paint and allow it to dry. Rub the wax puck over the edges, corners and high points of the piece. Anywhere the wax is applied will resist paint, so make sure it is applied randomly and in places where paint would naturally wear over time. After waxing, apply a second coat of milk paint and allow to dry completely. Distress the surface with a fine grit sandpaper or damp cotton cloth to easily remove the paint where the wax was applied, revealing the first coat underneath. Finish with a white, antiquing or furniture wax or hemp oil.

Our wax pucks are also great to rub on wood drawer slides to reduce sticking.

Saltwash™ is made with real sea salt, so you will notice it dries quicker and adheres to almost any surface that takes paint. It was designed to be mixed into any brand or type of paint and used as the base coat. When mixed to the desired consistency, it can be applied to almost any surface that takes paint.
